Where can you watch LaLiga 2022/23 games on US TV? Television schedule

The 2022/23 LaLiga campaign kicks off on Friday as Sevilla visit Osasuna, and viewers in the United States will be able to watch the clash - in addition to the other 379 games in the Spanish top flight this season - on the streaming service ESPN+.

In May, ESPN and LaLiga confirmed that the broadcaster had acquired exclusive US rights to the league for the next eight seasons. As part of the deal, ESPN will also show some Spanish second division games each week.

Majority-owned by Disney, the media company already had the US rights to the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, and the Copa de la Reina, the major women’s domestic cup competition in Spain.

“Select matches” in LaLiga will be broadcast across ESPN networks, the two organisations say.

How much is ESPN+ and where can I watch it?

In the US, ESPN+ costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 for an annual subscription.

You can also get the streaming platform as part of the $13.99/month and $19.99/month Disney Bundles that include ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu. Another option is the Hulu + Live TV streaming platform, which costs $69.99/month and comes with ESPN+.

You can watch ESPN+ on ESPNPlus.com, the ESPN app and - if you’re accessing the service as part of a Disney Bundle or Hulu + Live TV - the Hulu app. It doesn’t appear to be possible to watch ESPN+ on the Disney+ app.

LaLiga week one: Barça at home to Rayo, Madrid at Almería

After Osasuna and Sevilla get the ball rolling on Friday, Barcelona headline Saturday’s LaLiga action, as Xavi Hernández’s men host Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou at 3pm ET.

It remains to be seen how many of Barça’s summer signings will be eligible to play. At the time of writing, LaLiga’s financial-fair-play rules had prevented the cash-strapped-yet-big-spending Catalans from registering any of their five close-season purchases: Andreas Christensen, Frank Kessié, Jules Koundé, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

The same was true of Ousmane Dembélé and Sergi Roberto, who were already Barça players but have to be re-registered after signing new contracts.

However, Barça announced on Friday that the club had raised €100m ($103m) by selling just under 25% of Barça Studios - its in-house media company - to the firm Orpheus Media.

Having beaten Eintracht Frankfurt to win the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, Spanish champions Real Madrid begin the defence of their league title with a trip to face newly-promoted Almería on Sunday at 4pm ET.
