Whitecaps hike Champions Cup prices tenfold for Messi and Inter Miami’s visit to Vancouver
Ticket sales for the Concacaf Champions Cup semi finals have begun as Inter Miami head to Canada for the first leg on April 24.
Inter Miami and Vancouver Whitecaps will meet in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals with the winner facing the victorious side from the Cruz Azul-Tigres clash.
The first leg will take place in Vancouver (Canada) on Thursday April 24 with the return leg earmarked for the following week in Fort Lauderdale.
Expectation ahead of the game at BC Place in Vancouver is skyhigh with 50% of the stadium already sold out as fans flock to ensure they can attend a historic night in Whitecaps history.
However, they have been plenty of grumbling locally about the the prices for the seats still available which are far from ‘economic’. Ticket prices start at 211 Canadian dollars (152 US dollars) and go up to 900 Canadian dollars (650 US dollars), according to the official ticket sales outlet Ticketmaster.
The high profile nature of the game and the promise of Lionel Messi playing for Inter Miami are key factors that see inflated prices for the Vancouver game.
Vancouver ticket price hike
The Whitecaps have hiked prices for the Concacaf clash almost tenfold. This weekend in the MLS, Vancouver Whitecaps will play against Austin FC at BC Place and tickets for Miami’s visit are roughly more than ten times the price for this weekend’s regular season contest.
The cheapest tickets for the visit to Austin range from 29 Canadian dollars (20 US dollars) to 95 Canadian dollars (68 US dollars).
