Giovanni Reyna could leave Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window as he seeks more playing time in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign. Sky Germany claim that the USMNT player is frustrated with a lack of playing time at Dortmund and despite having a deal until 2025 with the German side, is interested in making a move in the next fortnight.

Clubs interested in Reyna

LaLiga clubs Sevilla and Real Sociedad have shown interest in the 21-year-old, and Dortmund are believed to be asking for a fee in the region of €15-20m for their player. The arrival of Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United means that Reyna is likely to feature even less under head coach Edin Terzic. The form of English talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (19) has also seen Reyna pushed further down the pecking order this season.

Gattuso searching for an attacker

In France, L’Équipe report that Marseille are also keen on landing the US forward as they look to strengthen. Head coach Gennaro Gattuso has reportedly held talks with club executives over signing another attacking player before the window closes later this month.

Unless other clubs come forward and show an interest in Reyna this month, he could end up making a move to either France or Spain as game time is a must for his chances of being match-fit and firing for the USA in the Copa América this summer. In 321 minutes in all competitions this season, he has only made 12 appearances and has yet to score a goal or provide an assist, with Terzic only handing the Sunderland-born player two starts in the entire campaign.
