Anthony Taylor will referee the Champions League Group H fixture between PSG and Juventus in Paris on Tuesday.

Taylor is a FIFA-listed referee. He joined the Premier League in 2010 and has officiated the Championship play-off final, UEFA Super Cup and the Nations League final.

The 43-year-old is expected to officiate at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Premier League stick with Taylor

A recent petition, started by Chelsea supporters in the aftermath of their 2-2 draw at home Tottenham, collected more than 140,000 signatures since it was posted online. The Premier League refused to bow to any pressure and have kept faith with Taylor.

The online petition was posted to have Taylor banned from officiating Chelsea games. The organisers of the petition have highlighted several controversial refereeing decisions dating back several years, not just Sunday’s calls.

“Anthony Taylor has continued to make big decisions against Chelsea over the years in big matches,” claimed the organisers of the petition. “Taylor has an agenda against Chelsea and should not be allowed to referee a game involving the club again.”

Taylor in charge of PSG-Juventus

PSG take on Juventus on Matchday 1 of the 2022-23 Champions League campaign.

The French champions have started the Ligue 1 season with five wins from six, scoring 24 goals along the way.

Juventus are unbeaten so far in Serie A but have picked up just two wins from their opening five games and currently sit in sixth place.

Group H gets underway

The clash between PSG and Juve will be one of the most intriguing of the group stage fixtures and both sides are expected to sail through Group H.

In Tuesday’s other Group H fixture, Benfica host Maccabi Haifa.
