As many had anticipated, Argentina have reached a second successive Copa América final, with Lionel Messi scoring in a 2-0 win over Canada in New Jersey on Tuesday. All eyes are now on the second semifinal in Charlotte to see whether the 2022 World Cup winners face Uruguay or Colombia in the final in Miami Gardens on July 14.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team breezed through the group stage, winning all three games by an aggregate score of 9-1. Their victory over the USMNT on matchday three sealed the hosts’ elimination from the tournament and set up a heavyweight quarterfinal against Brazil, which they won on penalties.
Colombia also drew against the Brazilians in the opening round, with victories in their other two matches seeing them qualify for the knockout rounds last Group D winners. James Rodríguez and Luis Díaz were among the goals as they thrashed Panama 5-0 in the last eight, equalling the biggest win of the tournament, initially recorded by Uruguay against Bolivia in Group C.
