EURO 2024
Who plays today in Euro 2024? 22 June: games, times, TV, schedule
The second round of the European Football Championship ends today, and this is the last day we will watch three games a day.
In the upcoming regular-time fixtures, all six teams have an equal chance of qualifying for the next round of the continental tournament. The matches in the first round of Group F were full of excitement, and today, the Czech Republic faced off against Georgia. Despite both teams putting up a good fight, the Czech Republic emerged victorious.
At noon ET, all eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo as he attempts to score his first goal in the fourth match against Turkey. Following that, at 3 p.m. ET, a highly anticipated match between Belgium and Romania will take place. If Belgium comes out victorious, all four teams in Group E will have accumulated three points each.
Georgia vs. Czech Republic (Hamburg, 9 a.m. ET)
Georgia and the Czech Republic, both at the bottom of Group F, are hoping to earn their first points at Euro 2024 when they face off on Saturday afternoon. Having lost their opening games, they will meet in Hamburg for the first time in any competition. Both teams are under pressure to secure a win in their second Group F game, and the Czech Republic may struggle against an enterprising Georgia side. Georgia could potentially earn their first point at the Euros with little to lose and some attacking flair.
It’s worth noting that the first match between Turkey and Georgia was arguably one of the best fixtures in Round 1.
Türkiye vs. Portugal (Dortmund, noon ET)
Turkey and Portugal will face off at Westfalenstadion in Dortmund on Saturday evening. Both teams are eager to secure the top spot in Group F and advance to the last 16 of Euro 2024. In their previous matches, Turkey defeated Georgia 3-1, while Portugal staged a comeback to win 2-1 against the Czech Republic. Both teams are highly motivated to secure the three points needed to advance to the knockout rounds.
Expect an exciting match with plenty of goal-scoring opportunities, as both teams are known for their attacking style of play. Portugal is considered the stronger side and is expected to come out on top.
Belgium vs. Romania (Cologne, 3 p.m. ET)
Belgium, still reeling from their unexpected loss to Slovakia, will face a Romania team that is riding high from a surprising victory in their second Group E match on Saturday evening. Romania defeated Ukraine 3-0 and now has a chance to qualify for the next round in Cologne. Although Romania’s performance was impressive, it was helped by Ukraine’s goalkeeper’s subpar performance. Belgium, on the other hand, is determined to prove themselves and will provide a tough challenge for Romania.
Despite Belgium’s lack of goals in their first match, they had chances to score. With better decision-making and finishing in the attacking third, they have the potential to turn things around and make the qualification race more competitive.
