Who will Inter Miami play in the 2024 Leagues Cup group stage?
The draw has been confirmed for this year’s edition of the MLS-Liga MX competition, which returns in its expanded format in July and August.
Holders Inter Miami have been handed a tough draw in the group stage of the 2024 Leagues Cup.
Tigres test for Herons in Leagues Cup
Miami, who are currently preparing for the start of the 2024 MLS season, have been pitted against Mexican giants Tigres in Group East 3, with Liga MX’s Puebla completing the section.
Together with Miami, Tigres are among the favourites to win the 2024 Leagues Cup, which will be the second edition of the tournament since it was expanded to include 47 Liga MX and MLS teams.
As in 2023, the Leagues Cup first round will consist of 15 groups of three, with the top two in each section progressing to a 32-club knockout stage.
The most recent MLS Cup winners - Columbus Crew - and the Liga MX’s highest points scorers in 2023 - Club América - have both been handed a bye to the round of 32.

Messi top-scored in the 2023 Leagues Cup with 10 goals in seven games, as Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino’s men won Group South 3 before seeing off five MLS opponents in the knockout stage.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was on target in a 1-1 draw with Nashville in the final at Geodis Park, before scoring his penalty in a 10-9 shootout win for the Floridians.
