The Liga MX Clausura 2023 tournament will soon be heading into its final phase, and a clearer picture of the Mexican title contenders is starting to emerge.

While no clubs have yet booked their ticket to the eight-team playoffs proper, regular-season leaders Rayados de Monterrey are guaranteed at least a spot in the postseason preliminary round, as are second-placed Toluca.

Rayados to come unstuck in playoffs, ChatGPT says

Monterrey, who are bidding to win the Liga MX for the sixth time, are seen by many as the favourites to scoop the Clausura 2023 crown. However, artificial intelligence doesn’t expect Víctor Manuel Vucetich’s side to finish the season as champions.

According to a prediction by the AI chatbot ChatGPT, Club América will come out on top in the playoffs to claim their 14th Mexican title.

Last year, it should be noted, ChatGPT successfully predicted that Argentina would win the World Cup in Qatar.

América face Monterrey in box-office clash this weekend

With four games to go in the Clausura 2023 regular season, América sit fourth in the table, in the final automatic qualifying spot for the playoffs proper.

In the pick of the matchday-14 clashes, Las Águilas host Monterrey at the Estadio Azteca on Saturday. A positive result for Fernando Ortiz’s men could lift them up to third in the standings, depending on Club León’s result against Cruz Azul earlier in the day.

América, whose haul of Mexican titles is a Liga MX record, last won the domestic championship in the Apertura 2018 tournament.
