Why is Erling Haaland not playing for Manchester City against Everton?
Manchester City take on Everton in the Premier League without Erling Haaland.
Erling Haaland has not been included in Manchester City’s matchday squad for their Premier League match against Everton on Wednesday.
City defender Ruben Dias also misses the trip to Merseyside due to illness, while Spain international Rodri starts in midfield after an injury scare against Fluminense in the Club World Cup final.
Haaland remains out due to what Pep Guardiola has described as a “stress” injury in his foot. The Norwegian has also missed the club’s recent games against Luton Town, Red Star Belgrade, Crystal Palace, Urawa Reds and Fluminense.
Has Haaland returned to training?
Haaland travelled to the Club World Cup with City but did not feature. The 23-year-old did, however, train individually in Saudi Arabia.
