Why isn’t Dusan Vlahovic playing for Juventus vs Galatasaray today? Injury update

Juventus are making their 25th appearance in European Cup/Champions League - than any other Italian club, But the Vecchia Signora have it all to do to continue in the current edition. Luciano Spalletti’s team head into tonight’s return leg against Galatasaray trailing 5-2 and will be without four players when the tie is resolved in Turin tonight.

Andrea Cambiaso and Juan Cabal, both of whom played the first leg, are suspended - for former for accumulation of yellow cards, the latter was sent off in Istambul. And on a night when Juve need goals more than ever,Spalletti will be without two of his strikers - Arkadiusz Milik and Dusan Vlahovic.

Milik has been recovering from a calf injury he sustained at the start of the New Year and while he is expected back, he’s not fit enough to have been included in the squad to face Gala.

Vlahovic, a long-term casualty

Vlahovic has not played since the end of November. The Serbian striker suffered a tendon avulsion affecting his left adductor in a 2–1 home win against Cagliari and underwent surgery on December 4. He has three goals and an assist in the competition, from the first four group games.

Leading the attack for Juve this evening will be Lois Openda and Jonathan David.
