Will Casemiro play for Manchester United against Manchester City?
Manchester United have won their last three games against Brentford, Sheffield United and Copenhagen.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that midfielder Casemiro is in a “race against the clock” to play in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
United have won their last three games against Brentford, Sheffield United and Copenhagen unconvincingly and face a tough test when Pep Guardiola’s side make the short trip across town this weekend.
Ten Hag on Casemiro
Ten Hag admits that his team could be missing Casemiro on Sunday, in what would be his third consecutive game out due to an ankle injury picked up on international duty with Brazil.
“Aaron (Wan-Bissaka is back) in training today and Case is a race against the clock,” Ten Hag said.
Casemiro trained ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League 1-0 win over Copenhagen, however, he was unable to feature due to suspension. Defender Harry Maguire scored the all-important goal on the night which saw United secure their first Champions League victory of the season.
Derby doubt
It now remains to be seen whether the former Real Madrid man can squeeze his way into the starting eleven at Old Trafford on Sunday.
