Will Militão, Bellingham, Tchouaméni play for Real Madrid vs Stuttgart?
Éder Militão was absent from training for Madrid’s first game of the Champions League season, but Carlo Ancelotti had reassuring news in his pre-match press conference.
Real Madrid defender Éder Militão is fit for Los Blancos’ Champions League opener against VfB Stuttgart, head coach Carlo Ancelotti says, despite the Brazilian missing training on the eve of the game.
Militão fit by leg injury
There were suggestions that Militão could miss the European clash after suffering a leg knock in Madrid’s 2-0 LaLiga win over Real Sociedad on Saturday, but Ancelotti revealed today that the 26-year-old “will be available tomorrow, 100%”. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Italian said: “He didn’t train today because we wanted to give him another day’s rest, allowing him just to do individual work.”
Bellingham back in full training
Meanwhile, Ancelotti told reporters that key midfielders Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jude Bellingham are both “in good shape” after returning from injury. Having spent the last two weeks recovering from a foot injury, Tchouaméni is now back in full training, as is Bellingham, who has missed Madrid’s last four games with a muscle issue in his right leg.
The pair are set to return to the Spanish and European champions’ matchday squad against Stuttgart, although it remains to be seen whether they will be ready to come back into Ancelotti’s starting line-up.
