Will PSG sign Ousmane Dembélé and Bernardo Silva?

PSG are building a new team after the departure of Lionel Messi. Kylian Mbappé's future remains in doubt.

Manchester City’s continued refusal to sell Bernardo Silva has been decisive in derailing an operation in which optimism prevailed at the beginning of the summer. PSG saw the Portuguese international as the ideal replacement for Leo Messi, who officially left the club in July. Sporting advisor Luis Campos had tried to persuade Silva to move, but the reigning Champions League winners, who were reluctant to let him leave after selling Riyad Mahrez to the Saudi Pro League, had the final say.

According to Le Parisien, Bernardo Silva was attracted by the idea of playing for PSG, meeting Luis Campos, the man who discovered him in European soccer after having signed him for Monaco when he was an unknown.

Qatar offers rejected

All the offers from Qatar to sign Silva have been rejected by City, who don’t want to negotiate a transfer as the club and Pep Guardiola consider the attacking midfielder as “irreplaceable”.

Dembélé on the way

PSG will therefore have to continue working in the transfer window to sign players, in addition to Ousmane Dembélé, who is expected to arrive in Paris in the coming days.

Kolo Muani is top of the striker shortlist, but Les Parisiens are also in talks with Lyon for Bradley Barcola. The talented forward, who is 20, wants to play in the French capital, but is waiting for an agreement to be reached. August will undoubtedly be a hectic month at PSG’s HQ.
