REAL MADRID
Will Real Madrid sign more players before the transfer window closes?
Jude Bellingham has been Real Madrid’s big signing of the summer and the England international has hit the ground running under Carlo Ancelotti.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and head coach Carlo Ancelotti have full confidence in the club’s squad as it stands. Throughout the summer there has been speculation about the signing of Kylian Mbappé but the Spanish club knew that the operation was not possible this year. Mbappé has a contract at PSG and wants to fulfill it.
The decision has been agreed between the coaching staff and the board of directors that no more players will be signed between now and the end of the summer transfer window.
Life without Benzema
Ancelotti, who was surprised by the departure of Karim Benzema, thought at first about signing a No 9. Harry Kane, a striker highly valued by the Italian coach, did not fit because of price and age.
Joselu’s professionalism means he is a good fit in the dressing room and while many wondered if Madrid would go the whole season with only Joselu as an out-and-out 9, at the club they are confident with the midfield that played in Vigo (Camavinga, Tchouaméni, Valverde and Bellingham), and Rodrygo and Vinicius up front. Vinicius’ injury disrupts Ancelotti’s plans, but the club will not go out and spend.
Strong start to LaLiga season
Madrid have three wins in the first three games of the LaLiga season and Bellingham has had a fine start to life at his new club. Brahim Díaz and Fran García have also come in to strengthen the squad. Kepa Arrizabalaga has been signed on loan to replace the injured Thibaut Courtois and Arda Güler has also been added, but remains sidelined through injury.
The plan after this season is to sign a right-back and a Galáctico. But at Madrid, they only sign one Galáctico per year. That’s why the star for this season is Bellingham.
