Dani Alves remains in the Brians 2 prison in Barcelona while he awaits trial for an alleged sexual assault on a 23-year-old woman at the Sutton nightclub in the city at the end on 30 December. Further details have emerged related to the case, which includes the alleged victim’s account of the events that took place, described by the judge as being “convincing” and “consistent,” while Alves has changed his testimony on numerous occasions. Images taken at the venue and the story of the young woman being able to correctly identify a tattoo Alves has on his abdomen have also come to light via judicial sources quoted by El Mundo.

What did the alleged victim’s friend say about a second Dani Alves assault?

The latest developments now come from journalist Mayka Navarro of La Vanguardia, who has revealed details of two witness statements, one provided by a friend of the alleged victim and another by her cousin, both of whom were also at Sutton on the night in question. The friend claims that Alves had also “violently” groped her and put his hand on her private parts until she managed to get away.

That testimony coincides with the alleged victim’s statement, who claims that that was the moment she realised what was going on: “I saw how he touched my friends and how close he was to him,” she stated.

The evidence appears to be mounting up against Alves, with investigators continuing to track down as many people as possible who were at Sutton on 30 December and may have seen Alves with the women. That includes the doorman, who identified that the alleged victim was having an anxiety attack and took her to an office on the premises. The manager of the nightclub was also involved, calling the Mossos d’Esquadra – Catalonia’s autonomous police force - to come to the scene.

In addition, La Vanguardia also report that a waiter from the VIP lounge, who, at the soccer player’s request, twice attempted to convince the women to go over to the table Alves was sitting at with his friend Bruno, a Brazilian chef, has also testified in court. It was later revealed that ‘Bruno’ had looked for the victim’s cousin on Instagram and wrote to her to “offer himself to her” for whatever she needed.
