Women’s soccer is growing by leaps and bounds, and a clear demonstration of this is evident in the recent events surrounding the 2024 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup, where the group stage of the joint competition with CONMEBOL concluded this Wednesday. The quarterfinal matchups are set, and here we provide the schedule for the matches, as well as the pairings for the semifinals.

Who plays in the quarterfinals and semifinals?

There will be plenty of attention on the clash between the United States and Colombia, pitting two teams vying to lift the trophy in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Gold Cup. The remaining matchups also draw considerable anticipation, making it worthwhile to examine what lies ahead on the road to the final.

Firstly, Canada vs Costa Rica is labeled as QF1 (Quarterfinal 1), being the encounter between the top-seeded team and the eighth-placed team in the overall standings. In their bracket lies USWNT vs Colombia as QF4, meaning that the winning teams will face off in SF1 (Semifinal 1) on Wednesday 6 March.

The other bracket of the tournament features Brazil vs Argentina (QF2) and Mexico vs Paraguay (QF3), implying that if the Mexican team - who caused a surprise against the USA - eliminate Paraguay, their next opponent will emerge from the winners of the South American classic. The Brazilians are favoured on this side of the draw, but anything can happen.
