Morocco through to the World Cup round of 16 for the first time in 36 years
The first - and only- time Morocco had previously made it through to the round of 16 of World Cup was in Mexico in 1986. It's safe to say there'll be plenty of partying going on in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh and beyond tonight.
Group F World Cup 2022 final standings: Who qualified for the round of 16 and who is out?
It's all over in group F! No goals in the second half despite Belgium's - and Romelu Lukaku's - best efforts. Are they the biggest nation (in terms of their expectations) to have been eliminated? I think so.

Who is Victor Gomes? And what role did he play in a match-fixing case?
I think it's crazy we are playing in just over two days. I can't really understand this. It's almost 1 a.m. - tomorrow is Thursday. We could have had more rest. I want to make it clear that it doesn't seem right to me that we have just two and a half days of rest after being first in the group. These conditions aren't great".

Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino leaves Mexico coaching post
Argentinian manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino has announced that he has left his position as head coach of the Mexico National Team. The announcement came after El Tri were knocked out of the World Cup 2022 in the group stages, despite a 1-2 win against Saudi Arabia.
The 60 year-old from Rosario took over the side in 2019 but a disappointing World Cup campaign saw them lose to Argentina after a draw with Poland, leaving Mexico with little hope of making it through the group stages for an eighth consecutive time. It is the first time in 44 years that the side have not made it out of the first round.
“My contract ended when the referee blew the whistle to end the match and there is nothing more to it”, said the coach after the game. Ever since I arrived here I have worked with complete freedom, with no interference from anyone. I appreciate that from the President and the Sporting Directors.
“I am the one responsible for the disappointment we feel”, the coach added, “We accept the failure we have had at the World Cup. Against Poland we were unable to show the superiority we had against Argentina, we could have faced the second half in our normal style. Tonight, Mexico’s superiority was clear to see.”
