FIFA and Netflix join forces for the World Cup
Fans around the world will be able to enjoy a World Cup video game through the popular streaming platform.

FIFA and Netflix are teaming up ahead of the World Cup. On Wednesday, soccer’s global governing body announced a simulation video game tied to next summer’s tournament, which will be available exclusively through the well known streaming service.
Subscribers will be able to experience the World Cup through this new release developed by Delphi Interactive. All that is required is an active Netflix account and a mobile device. Alain Tascan, president of Netflix Games, said that “fans will be able to feel the thrill of the competition from their homes,” while FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated that “this new version will completely change the concept of sports simulation and mark the beginning of a new era for soccer video games.”

For now, there are no details about the game’s visual style or gameplay mechanics. However, based on previous World Cup themed titles, it is almost certain that all 48 qualified national teams and the 16 World Cup stadiums will be included. More information will be revealed next year.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: “FIFA is extremely excited to collaborate with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. This important partnership is a key milestone in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in soccer video games, with the goal of reaching billions of fans of all ages around the world and redefining what simulation games can be. Our reimagined game truly marks the beginning of a new era of digital soccer. It will be available free to Netflix members and represents a major historic step for FIFA.”
“Soccer is the most important thing in the world. As lifelong FIFA fans, we are honored to help usher in a bold new generation and reimagine the future of the franchise. Our mission is simple: to make FIFA the most fun, accessible, and global soccer game ever created,” said Casper Daugaard, founder and CEO of Delphi Interactive. Andy Kleinman, president of Delphi Interactive, added: “Together with FIFA and Netflix Games, Delphi is creating a game worthy of the world’s favorite sport, a game that anyone, anywhere, can pick up and instantly feel the magic of soccer.”
Since 2004, the official World Cup video game had been developed by U.S. company Electronic Arts (EA), which also released the annual series popularly known as FIFA. However, after nearly three decades of collaboration, the organization led by Gianni Infantino and the developer went their separate ways. According to multiple reports, EA was paying $150 million per year to use the FIFA name and the rights associated with it.
