The striker took to Instagram after his brace against Brazil. True to form, he kept it understated, letting his performance do the talking.
Erling Haaland lit up the World Cup with his two-goal performance against Brazil, and just minutes after the final whistle he posted what quickly became a viral Instagram update: a simple locker room selfie with the caption, “Well, well, well.” Short and understated, but enough to sum up what he had just done to the five-time world champions.

Haaland, who now has seven goals in the tournament—level with Messi and Mbappé—decided an evenly contested match with a superb header and a clinical finish. Although he had been largely kept quiet throughout the game, he made the most of his two clear chances to beat Alisson.
Shortly after that first, more personal post on his official Instagram account, Haaland shared another message, this time aimed at the entire nation of Norway: “The 28-year wait was worth it.”
The post was accompanied by a photo of him celebrating one of his goals.
Norway is no longer putting limits on what it can achieve. The team has reached the World Cup quarterfinals, where it will face either Mexico or England. If head coach Ståle Solbakken had described Brazil as the clear favorite before this match, the conversation could look very different in just a few days.
