Boca Juniors VP Riquelme leads fans in protest

As Boca presidential elections were delayed, current vice president Juan Román Riquelme continues his row with former Argentine President Mauricio Macri.

The fight for the Boca Juniors presidency escalates as retired star and current vice president of Boca, Juan Román Riquelme, and former president of Argentina Mauricio Macri duke it out for the position. The votes were supposed to happen on Sunday but were postponed due to alleged voter registration “anomalies”. Riquelme led a demonstration on Sunday, December 3, to protest the decision. He told the fans how proud he was of the team and led them in a song with these lyrics: “Olé, olé, olé, each day I love you more. I am a Bostero, it’s a feeling I can’t stop.”
