Fact check: Jackie Chan’s heartwarming video with daughter is actually a movie scene

A video was uploaded online of Jackie Chan which had people believing that it was a real clip with Chan and his real daughter. In reality, the clip is from a scene in the movie Ride On, and the girl in the video is actress Liu Haocun, playing Chan’s character’s daughter.

In the film, Chan plays a retired stunt actor and in the scene, he’s watching his old films with his daughter. Unfortunately in real life, he and his daughter Etta Ng do not have a good relationship. When she came out as gay, she posted a video to YouTube saying that Chan had cut her out of his life and left her homeless. So, while it is indeed a sweet video, it’s definitely not real - just a scene from a movie.
