Jokic makes history yet again with triple double

Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic notched a historic triple-double, setting an NBA post season record for the second game in a row.

Update:

Is Nikola Jokic going to keep up this trend of setting records every game this post season? In the Denver Nuggets’ 109-94 victory over the Miami Heat, Jokic made history. He did so in Game 2 of the NBA Finals as well.

During Game 2, Jokic became the first center in NBA history to record more than 500 points and more than 100 assists in a single post season. Now, in Game 3, Jokic has become the first player ever in NBA Finals history to record a triple-double with 30 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.

He finished the game with 32 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks, and three turnovers in 44 minutes of play. It’s not the first time he’s notched a 30-20-10 triple-double in the playoffs though. He’s actually done so three times, including twice in this year’s post season. Only two other players have accomplished that feat - Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (both doing so only once).

The Nuggets now lead the series 2-1 over the Heat. Game 4 is this Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET in Miami.
