The (arguably) best soccer player in the world right now is officially coming to the U.S. Lionel Messi confirmed his signing with Inter Miami on Wednesday, to the surprise of many.
Looking back, it shouldn’t come as too much of a shock, however. Throughout the years, Messi has expressed an interest in living in the U.S. and playing for MLS. Even as far back as 2018, Messi hinted at playing for Inter Miami when David Beckham joined the team. He left him this welcome message:
“First of all, congratulations! I want to wish you the best of luck in this project, this new stage of yours. And who knows, maybe in a few years, they’ll be calling me.”
