Naked man who stole police car in Vegas “may have” been on drugs
According to police, a naked man who stole a police car had bloodshot eyes and acted “under the influence of illegal narcotics” once he was arrested.
On Wednesday, a naked man was approached by police with reports saying he looked like he was “trying to get hit by vehicles” in Las Vegas. The man was later identified as Clyde Cabulisan. Cabulisan punched an officer in the face several times and then stole a police car and drove it down Cimmaron road until he eventually crashed into a 2012 Ford Explorer. He then tried to run away on foot but was caught and arrested.
The two people in the Explorer were taken to the hospital with one suffering from internal bleeding and the other a broken hip, neck, wrist, and a liver laceration. Cabulisan himself suffered a head injury with brain bleeding. Officers have said he “may have” been on drugs as he had bloodshot eyes and acted “under the influence of illegal narcotics”. His brother also called the police department and told them that Cabulisan “may have taken cocaine and marijuana at a party earlier in the evening and had a mental breakdown”.
Cabulisan now faces charges of DUI, failure to stop at the scene of a crash, reckless driving, robbery, grand larceny, battery on a protected person, and driver disobeyed a peace officer. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, but was still in the hospital. The state will consolidate the cases against Cabulisan and the hearing is now scheduled for Tuesday.
