NBA Finals: Jokic rolls ankle in Game 4
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic gave fans a scare when he landed on his ankle in Game 4 against the Miami Heat, but he was able to shake it off...for now.
Denver Nuggets fans were given a huge scare on Friday when superstar Nikola Jokic landed awkwardly on his ankle in the first quarter of Game 4 against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.
As Jokic was contesting a rebound, he landed on Max Strus’ foot, rolling his ankle in the process. Here’s how it happened:
Jokic was only able to play through it for a few minutes before he left the court to get the ankle checked out in the locker room at the end of the first quarter. He came back onto the court in the middle of the second quarter when the game was tied, 30-30 and he was not wearing any tape or bandages on the ankle.
It would be a huge loss if Jokic is unavailable for the future games in this NBA Finals series as he’s currently averaging 33.3 points per game, 14 rebounds, and 9.3 assists in the three games against the Miami Heat.
So far, Jokic seems to be okay, playing through any pain in Game 4. We will publish any new information as this story develops.
