PSG Foundation confirm Marco Asensio transfer with hand-drawn announcement video

The Spanish forward spent nine years with Real Madrid but has now made the switch to join former Los Blancos player Luis Enrique in Paris.

Marco Asensio’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain was announced on Thursday, bringing to a close his trophy-laden nine years at Real Madrid.

The move had been rumoured for weeks but until now the club had not confirmed the deal. Asensio’s arrival was announced with a video posted by the PSG Foundation, the French club’s charitable organisation.

The video features a number of pencil drawings of Asensio in the 2023/24 PSG kit. Viewers are invited to ‘Guess who’ the new signing could be, with the vast majority of respondents correctly guessing the Spain midfielder. The video does not make clear exactly who made the pictures used in the video, but it seems like the the artists were children involved on the PSG Foundation.

“Since its inception in 2000, our Foundation aims to support disadvantaged or sick children, as well as young people and communities in difficulty,” reads a post on the PSG Foundation website.

PSG are no strangers to creative announcement videos. Earlier on in the day they announced the signing of Milan Škriniar from AC Milan with a video of a mock-up airport arrivals lounge.
