Travis Kelce explains viral video “pushing” Swift’s security guard

As the world keeps a close watch on the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and mega pop star Taylor Swift, people are finding every little detail to overanalyze and comment on - something Swift is probably used to, but Kelce, not so much. In a viral video ahead of their most recent date, after the two appeared on Saturday Night Live, Kelce appeared to insist on opening the car door for Swift. What some people were saying is that he pushed a security guard out of the way in order to do it himself, but when you see the video, you can see Kelce just touches the guard’s back.

In his most recent podcast episode with his brother and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, he defended himself, saying, “I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him. If I would’ve pushed him, he probably would’ve turned around and tazed me.” He continued, saying that he does feel a natural protectiveness around Swift, but only in the sense of being a natural gentleman.
