Video: Flames engulf multiple businesses in the Bronx
A huge, 5-Alarm fire has broken out in the Bronx, New York with flames spreading rapidly, and this just days after a six-story building collapsed.
Videos shared on social media show a massive fire raging through the Bronx, New York. Firefighters are battling the flames, which started at around 3:30 a.m. and have already torn through several businesses in the Kingsbridge area, including a local barber shop, seafood market, meat market, florist and cleaning business.
This unfortunate disaster comes just days after a six-story building in the Bronx collapsed, destroying homes within it.
In the collapse, which came without any warning, only two people were injured and no victims were found while evacuating the building. The fire department said that everyone was able to get out safely.
How did the fire start in the Bronx?
Officials say that the fire started at Cold Cut City Bunny Deli and witnesses say they believe it started in the kitchen at the back of the deli. One witness said that there had been a party with live music in the deli on Tuesday evening and they hoped that it did not have something to do with the fire. So far, one person has been reported as injured in the massive fire.
