Watch: Athletic radicals tried to enter San Mamés

Tensions ran high at the Copa del Rey Semifinals match between Atlético Madrid and Athletic Club at San Mamés stadium in Bilbao. Before the game even started, some Athletic ultras were throwing glass objects at the staff members and chanting at the police officers to leave. As seen in this video clip, they also tried to violently break into the stadium.

In addition to these unfortunate events, several other Athletic radicals attacked an Atlético fan at a restaurant near the stadium, hitting him in the head with a bottle and badly injuring him.
