Watch: Biden confuses Mexico and Egypt

President Joe Biden spoke at a press conference specifically to refute allegations of a poor memory and in it, he appeared to confuse Mexico and Egypt.

President Joe Biden was defending himself against a report by Robert Hur which said that Biden is a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory”. Throughout his presidency, Biden’s memory has been called into question. As he was speaking, he made an extremely unfortunate mistake, saying that he spoke to the president of Mexico, when he actually meant the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

“I think as you know initially, the president of Mexico, El-Sisi, did not want to open up the gate to humanitarian material to get in,” said Biden. “I talked to him. I convinced him to open the gate.”
