Watch Macklemore’s video for “Hind’s Hall”, new song criticizing Biden and supporting Palestine
Rapper Macklemore released a new single which supports the college protests against the war in Gaza and says president Joe Biden has “blood on his hands”.
Macklemore has released a new track called “Hind’s Hall”, the name that Columbia University students gave to Hamilton Hall when they occupied it as part of a pro-Palestine protest. The name Hind references a six-year-old child named Hind Rajab, who was killed in Gaza.
In Macklemore’s song, he gives support to the pro-Palestine protesters on college campuses across the United States. He also criticizes U.S. president Joe Biden and the music industry for how they have responded to the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
“The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all, and f*** no, I’m not voting for you in the fall,” he says in the song. Macklemore has previously shown support for Democratic president Barack Obama and opposition for Republican president Donald Trump.
“The music industry’s quiet, complicit in their platform of silence,” he raps. “I want a ceasefire, f*** a response from Drake.” This line is in reference to the ongoing rap battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, which has been all over the media in the last few weeks. Many people have noted it’s difficult to care about a rap battle when there’s real war going on.
