Watch: Patrick Mahomes’ gift to Luka Doncic

The Chiefs QB was present to witness Kyrie Irving’s “greatness” and swapped jerseys with Luka Doncic after the Mavericks’ buzzer-beater win vs the Nuggets.

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes witnessed greatness in the NBA on Sunday. He and wife Brittany Mahomes were in attendance for the Dallas Mavericks vs Denver Nuggets game, when Kyrie Irving put up an incredible buzzer-beater shot to win the game over last year’s champions.

Mahomes, who won his third Super Bowl this year, is a Texas boy. He grew up in Tyler and studied and played at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He was spotted at another Mavericks game last year against the Lakers just after he’d won his second Super Bowl with the Chiefs.

After the game, Mahomes greeted Irving, telling him, “greatness, dawg, greatness!”

He also met up with Mavs star Luka Doncic and gave the Slovenian a signed Chiefs jersey with his name and number. Mahomes praised Doncic for a great game. Irving and Doncic scored 71 combined points in their win over the Nuggets. Doncic was responsible for 37 of those points, plus nine rebounds and three assists. Irving put up 24 points, including the clutch left hook shot from 20.1 feet out with 2.7 seconds remaining to win the game 107-105.
