RUNNING OF THE BULLS

Video: Running of the bulls day one | Adrenaline rush as six bulls plow through Pamplona

Day 1 of the running of the bulls in Pamplona was a stunning two-minute wild race through the town Hemingway made famous.

The opening day of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, in northern Spain, a festival popularised in the English speaking world by Ernest Hemingway in his book The Sun Also Rises, saw a fairly clean, rapid race, with the toros completing the course in two minutes 32 seconds (the record stands at one minute 50 seconds).

A number of runners were knocked over by the bulls and there were also numerous fallers over the course. In total six runners needed treatment for their injuries.
