Alavés coach Mauricio Pellegrino said he was proud of his side after pulling off a shock 1-2 win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

“Everything is possible in football he said,” he said. “When you’re faced with such a massive disadvantage you have to try and make your opponent uncomfortable. We worked really hard, things went our way and we won.”

A surprising set-piece goal for Barcelona
Pellegrino, who had a spell at Barcelona on loan back in the late-90s, said he was surprised that Barcelona didn’t create more chances: “We expected them to create more danger from open play but in the end the goal came from a set piece, which is something we need to address.”
“I hope the team continues to grow, this will stand us in good stead,” he added.
