When do Social Security and SSI go out in June 2026? Complete payment schedule

With June 2026 well underway, multiple groups of beneficiaries have now been paid by the Social Security Administration (SSA). However, millions more must wait for the SSA’s three-Wednesdays payment cycle to kick in before they receive their monthly money.
Read on for the lowdown on the June schedule for:
- Social Security benefits (retirement, disability and survivor pay)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Who has the Social Security Admin paid so far in June 2026?
- SSI beneficiaries: June 1
On Monday, June 1, the SSA was scheduled to issue the latest round of SSI benefits to the 7.3 million Americans who are signed up to the scheme.
A payment for certain low-income individuals, SSI is run by the SSA, but differs from regular Social Security benefits as it is needs-based. Eligibility for SSI does not depend on a claimant’s employment history.
- Some long-term Social Security recipients: June 3
On Wednesday, June 3, the SSA was due to send out this month’s Social Security benefits to recipients who began claiming their payments before May 1997.
- Double beneficiaries (Social Security + SSI): June 3
June 3 was also the Social Security distribution date for recipients who combine the program with SSI.
When does the three-Wednesdays Social Security cycle kick in for June?
Of the 71.1 million people who claim Social Security benefits, many will be paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in June, depending on their birthday:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, June 10
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, June 17
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, June 24
NB: If you receive Social Security based on someone else’s work record, the SSA uses the other person’s birthday.
How much are Social Security and SSI benefits?
- Social Security retirement benefits: $2,026.41
- Social Security disability benefits: $1,493.20
- Social Security survivor benefits: $1,625.56
- SSI benefits: $738.22/month
(Average monthly payment, per SSA stats.)
How does the Social Security Admin make benefits payments?
- Money can be transferred into a beneficiary’s bank account by direct deposit
- Benefits can be paid onto the Direct Express Card, a debit card for picking up federal disbursements
