Selena Gomez goes fishing amid Hailey Bieber drama

Although she recently announced a social media hiatus, Selena Gomez found time to post her spending some time with her family.

Taking a step away from all the recent drama involving Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez is spending some time fishing with her family.

Gomez shows off the fish she caught

The 30-year-old posted several pictures of her with sister Gracie and stepdad Brian after going back to her roots.

“Texas girl at heart. Cali girl for fun and NY gal for the real,” she captioned the post. “Grateful, thankful and blessed lady!”

In one of the photos, Gomez and her sister are proudly holding up a pair of fish, while in another they are seen hugging on the water.

Gomez recently announced a social media hiatus

The post comes after Gomez announced on February 23 that she was taking a step back from social media following her recent ups and downs with Hailey.

“I’m going to be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later,” Gomez said during a TikTok live. “I’m just gonna take a break from everything.”

The announcement came after Gomez was involved in some online drama with Hailey, who is married to Justin Bieber. Gomez dated the Canadian singer on and off for almost a decade before splitting for good.

Bieber later proposed to Hailey in 2018 just months after ending things with Gomez.

Although both women say they are on good terms, it remains to be seen if that is still the case following recent events.

After Kylie Jenner denied that she and Hailey had dissed Gomez, who posted a February 21 TikTok about “accidentally laminating [her] brows too much”, things boiled over once again a few days later.

Days later a video of Hailey pretending to gag at the mention of Taylor Swift on an episode of ‘Drop the Mic’ resurfaced, which prompted a response from Gomez: “Sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

Fans show their support for Gomez

Following her fishing post, fans continued to show their support for the singer.

“Love this side of selena,” wrote one fan, while another praised Gomez for how she is handling the current situation: “She literally killed “them” with kindness :)”

Hulu, which is home to Gomez’s series ‘Only Murders in the Building’, also got in on the comments.

“The fish ended up with the best catch,” the platform’s account wrote.
