Henry: "If Barça can stop Özil, Arsenal have had it"
The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker looks ahead to the match on Tuesday and says that Arséne Wenger will repeat his Bayern game plan.
Thierry Henry, who represented both Barcelona and Arsenal during his career, gave an interview to Barça TV ahead of the match between the sides in London on Tuesday night. “It’s going to be very difficult for Arsenal; I think Barcelona will go through,” the former France international said.
Özil: “He’s playing very well, he can do incredible things and he sets up a lot of goals. If Barça can stop Mesut, Arsenal have pretty much had it.”
Line-up: “I think Arsenal will play as they did against Bayern at home. They’ll defend, try to score on the break and see what they can do, because against Barça it’s difficult to have the ball.”
Arsenal: “This Arsenal side fight a lot. Before, they couldn’t win a match if they weren’t playing well and this season they have managed to do it, sometime when they’ve hardly had the ball. They did it against Bayern, against City and against United.”
Alexis Sánchez: “People here [in England] can’t understand why Barcelona let him leave. But if you have Messi, Suárez and Neymar, you have to understand.”
Héctor Bellerín: “Héctor is doing very well. When Arsenal lost last year in Dortmund he had a bad game. It was his first match and everybody was saying that he wasn’t good enough to play for Arsenal. But he worked hard and this year he has improved a lot.”
The Paris final 2006: “There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think about that game. Arsenal had never won the Champions League and that year the final was at home for me, 30 kilometres from where I was born, with my whole family in the stadium. It was strange because people were talking before the game about how I might leave for Barcelona. Iniesta changed the game when he came on. Andrés killed me. We were down to 10 and I couldn’t keep track of him.”
