Diego Simeone has opted to rotate his Atlético Madrid side for the trip to Sporting Gijón (16:00 CET) in the wake of Los Rojiblancos' midweek Champions League exertions.

Lucas Hernández replaces the injured Diego Godín at the heart of the Atlético defence, while Jesús Gámez is drafted in to give right-back Juanfran a breather.

Simeone has also made changes in midfield. With captain Gabi rested and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco suspended, 'El Cholo' has placed his faith in Saúl Ñíguez, Matías Kranevitter, Koke and Ángel Correa.

Up front, Atleti will take to the field with Antoine Griezmann and Luciano Vietto.

Atlético Madrid XI: Oblak; Gámez, Giménez, Lucas, Filipe Luis; Saúl, Kranevitter, Koke, Correa; Griezmann, Vietto.

Host coach Abelardo Fernández, meanwhile, has named the following team: Cuéllar; Lora, Luis, Meré, Isma; Sergio, Mascarell, Cases; Pablo Pérez, Sanabria, Jony.
