REAL MADRID

Fans want Morata back to stay

A significant majority of readers who took part in an AS.com poll called on Real to shelve plans to re-sign the striker only to sell him on.

The Real Madrid faithful have delivered their verdict on the club's plans for striker Álvaro Morata, and are not in favour.

AS reported on Tuesday that Real chiefs are preparing to exercise their 30-million-euro buy-back option on the Juventus ace, who left the Bernabéu for the Italian champions in summer 2014.

However, it's thought that they then intend to flog him straight on at a tidy profit, with sides in the Premier League particularly keen on the 23-year-old.

But in an AS.com fans' vote, Madrid's supporters called for the academy graduate to return to Los Blancos - and return for good.

11,699 readers took part in a poll in which they were asked the question: "Would you bring Morata back to Real Madrid to keep him or sell him on?"

And a clear majority of those who voted - 71.5 % - urged Real to make him a part of their 2016-17 squad if they take up their option on him.
