Barcelona reward Mascherano with contract extension
The Argentine will be awarded a pay rise and see his contract extended by three seasons. The agreement was announced during André Gomes' presentation.

In accordance with Luis Enrique's express wishes, which the coach aired in his first press conference of the pre-season last week, Barcelona have extended and improved Javier Mascherano's contract.
The news was confirmed by Barça's Director of Institutional Relations Albert Soler during today's official presentation of new signing André Gomes. Soler announced that Mascherano will renew for a further three seasons and gain a substantial increase to his pay packet.
