Ancelotti on Ibra: "I kicked a box and it landed on his head"
Carlo Ancelotti told an interview with FourFourTwo of one memorable occasion at PSG when his customary composure deserted him.
Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti is widely regarded as one of football's calmer managers but, as the Italian has admitted, he is not immune to losing his temper now and again.
And in a Q&A in the UK media, Ancelotti has spoken of one occasion as Paris Saint-Germain boss when that's exactly what happened - with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic feeling the full force of his ire.
"We played really badly - I was very angry"
Speaking to FourFourTwo, he recalled his fury at seeing his PSG side exit the Coupe de France at the hands of Evian in 2013, explaining: "We had played really, really badly. I was very angry – so much so that I broke a door.
"I also kicked a box and it landed on Ibrahimovic’s head. He didn’t react."
"Ibra uses his ego for good"
On the Swedish ace, who he coincided with for a season at the Parc des Princes, the 57-year-old told the monthly magazine: "Ibra is really funny, but he is also extremely professional.
"A manager wants that ego in a player. Ibra uses his ego for good: he has individual talent, but he plays for the team. Cristiano Ronaldo is just the same."
CR7: "Really easy to train"
Asked about working with Ronaldo during his two-year stint as Real Madrid coach, Ancelotti said: "He is a really easy player to train, because as a professional you don’t have to tell him anything.
"He knows clearly what he must do to be ready for games and for training."
