Moussa Sissoko issues come and get me plea to Real Madrid
The France international has made his disinclination to play in England's second tier quite clear and has spoken openly of wanting to move to Madrid.
Moussa Sissoko has openly stated his desire to leave Newcastle after the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Speaking to the BBC, the France international expressed his desire that next season he would be playing behind Madrid’s version. "I hope Real will come for me. I'm still waiting," Sissoko told the BBC World Service radio station. "If Real Madrid are interested in you, then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player."
"I want to play for a big club"
Rafa Benítez and the club bigwigs are perfectly aware that Sissoko wants to jump ship but are unwilling to let him leave on the cheap. "I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else. I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That's why I said I want to leave this year. I've spent a lot of time here and now it's time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation. I hope they will and that everything will be OK."
Benítez has already reinforced his midfield in anticipation of Sissoko’s departure with the signing of Senegal international Mohamed Diamé from Hull City. And the Spaniard has also hinted there will be few tears if and when Sissoko leaves St. James’ Park: “It’s sometimes better not to hold on to players if they are not happy.”
Sissoko, 26, caught the eye with some impressive performances for hosts France during Euro 2016, notably in their extra-time defeat by Portugal in the final.
However, Newcastle have not accepted any offers for the former Toulouse player, whose contract still has three years left to run.
