Eusebio hails Canales return and deems the squad closed
Real Sociedad's coach ruled out the possible return of Diego Reyes. As for Granero he said: "Everyone knows his situation; it will be clearer after the markets close".
Real Sociedad coach Eusebio Sacristán considers that the Basque club have now completed their spending for the summer, confirming that there will be no new additions to the squad. He also said he was delighted that Sergio Canales has been given the all-clear after several months out recovering from a serious knee injury, that the club will not be attempting to bring Diego Reyes back, and admitted that Esteban Granero's time in San Sebastián could be up.
Eusebio also soke about what he anticipates from tomorrow's trip to El Sadar:
Osasuna: "They have a style which is very different to most of the other teams - collectively, they show great spirit and their players are in a good moment of form - De la Cuevas, Kenan, Oriol... They know exactly what they are doing, and they are very effective at it. That means we will be to be alert, prepared and focused as we'll be in for a very intense, high-rhythm game and we are going to be put under pressure".
Major threats: "Traditionally, Osasuna have always been a team who cause problems with their aerial power, from set-pieces. They are good in the air and always have been; we have have been preparing for that all of this week and we're ready for them".
No cause for alarm: "This is only the second game. We have to prepare well from all of our games - like we did last week, and build up points. We're working so that we won't be constantly under pressure, and working on trying to win tomorrow's game".
Canales cleared by doctors: "It's great news - now we are able to count on Sergio. He's training well but he still lacks that competitive edge which you can only get from playing matches every week. He's not in the list for tomorrow's game - he's doing great in training but he's not ready to compete in a match just yet. It's a real pleasure to watch him in training because he has got so much quality".
Wilian José: "He's ready to play from the start, but what I need to see si whether he is capable of completing the full 90 minutes at a high level; that's why we are thinking about whether he will start on come on later"
Squad is closed: "We don't need anyone else and there will be no new reinforcements. We're happy with the players we have in the squad and convinced that they are going to have a great season. There is still time until deadline day and some players could leave, but no one will be arrive".
Granero: "The players know my position on each of them and what I think. With that in mind, Esteban is one more member of the squad and he has been working with a good mentality but everyone in the squad should know their situation - we're as clear as we can be about the players and once the market closes, Esteban's situation will be clearer".
