Bale, Benzema and Cristiano should not be non-negotiable
I think it was Confucius who said "Study the past to define the future." I’m sure that in Zidane’s crystal ball he can see the BBC and the problems that the colossal attacking trio’s performances are currently posing him.
A below par BBC is counterproductive
With the 300 goals that that they’ve scored between them since 2013, nobody is doubting their place on the pitch. However, the accomplished facts – from what we’ve seen in past (the one the Chinese philosopher referred to) – show that playing the BBC when they are not at their best can be counterproductive and damaging for the team.
The only one who is playing at his usual level from what we’ve seen in previous seasons is Bale. Rapid, explosive and resolute. But Cristiano, like Benzema, are a couple of shades off their peak physical form, and they are suffering on the field for it.
Vázquez and Morata pile on the pressure
If Lucas Vázquez and Álvaro Morata continue to pile on the pressure like locomotives, it’s easy to conclude that it would be beneficial for the Gallegan and Madrileño to stop being just benchwarmers. The BBC will end up being lethal again, but for now, their place in team is not non-negotiable.
