Javier Clemente sacked from Libya post after Congo defeat
The Libyan Football Federation confirmed that Spanish coach Javier Clemente has been sacked following the 4-0 defeat to Congo.

The Libyan Football Federation confirmed this afternoon that Javier Clemente has been sacked from his position as coach of the national team following last night's 4-0 2018 World Cup Russia defeat to Congo in Kinsasha.
The Congolese, who were far superior to Clemente's Libya, inflicted a painful defeat on the North Africans with goals from Hull City's Dieumerci Mbokani, Jonathan Bolingi and Firmin Mubele.
Saturday's defeat merely underscored a decision which had already been taken by the LFF, who announced a few weeks ago that the Spaniard would leave his post after October's qualifiers.
But the 66-year-old former Spain coach won't even be on the bench for Libya's second qualifier of the international break, against Tunisia on 11 October.
Clemente made his debut as Libya coach in September 2013 after taking over from Abdulhafeedh Arbeesh, who was sacked after the team crashed to a 0-1 home defeat to Cameroon in the qualifying rounds of 2014 World Cup Brazil.
During his three years in charge of the the north Africans, Clemente gained the major success of his international career when he led the team to lift the African Nations Championship trophy in 2014. He oversaw 14 games as national team coach, with a modest balance of three wins, six draws and five defeats.
