LEGIA-REAL MADRID
Nacho: "I won't always be playing 15 games a season"
The defender added: "Maybe at another club it would be easier for me, but I'm happy here. I'm relaxed because every season I am playing more".Real Madrid-Deportivo: LaLiga matchday 20
Real Madrid central defender Nacho joined Zidane in looking ahead to tomorrow's Champions League meeting with Legia, in Warsaw - a game which will be played without public.
Anything but easy
The game: “It's going to be a complicated - as it always is. It's difficult because we are away from home and playing in an empty stadium, but we shouldn't be thinking about that. We have to focus on our game and coming home with all three points”.
Back in the starting XI: “I'm not going to enter into whether it's fair or not. All of us want to play every match. At Real Madrid, that is very difficult because the competition is so high. The coach is delighted with the work we are doing. It's our job to make selecting the team as difficult as possible for him”.
Gaining continuity is vital for a centre-back: “For any player, regardless of their position, it's much easier when you are playing every weekend. I am used to playing when I am needed - sometimes every fortnight, other times every week... I train to have opportunities like this, and to get continuity”.
Brand new experience
Have you ever played in front of an empty stadium before? “No, I've never played in an empty stadium. It'll be strange playing with no one watching - like being a kid again I suppose. We have to remain fully focused because nothing else will be different”.
Tomorrow's game will be your 85th appearances for Real Madrid: “I feel really good, strong and motivated. Every time I play wearing this shirt I am hitting new goals. Anything can happen in football. I know where I have come from and I set myself achievable goals. If one season I play 17 games, the next I wasnt to play 20. I won't be playing 15 games a season for the rest of my life. I aspire to more than that. I know where I am and I am happy here. I aspire to playing 60 games a season".
