Inter say 'no' to Marcelino: set to announce Pioli soon
The 51-year-old former Lazio manager is set to be named as the new Inter Milan manager in a matter of hours.
The announcement of Stefano Pioli as the name manager of Inter Milan is a matter of hours away as the club move quickly to replace the outgoing Frank de Boer.
He has reportedly beaten out competition that included former Villarreal manager Marcelino who was sacked by the club just before La Liga started this season.
The Asturian coach was one of the candidates for the job, but Inter have decided to go in the direction of the former Lazio manager Piolo, most likely because of his experience in Serie A.
Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Piolo is already in Milan and his lawyers are currently meeting with the club in an effort to iron out the final details of the contract.
The 51-year-old who wave goodbye to Lazio in April is still being paid compensation by his former club.
