The Atlético Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak, went into the derby on the back of a four-game run of conceding goals, equalling his worst record in an Atlético shirt.

Normally a safe pair of hands

Usually a calming presence behind the rojiblanco defence, Oblak had shipped nine goals this season, seven of them in LaLiga. Despite their slightly shaky period defensively, Simeone's side had conceded the second-fewest goals in LaLiga, and this season have been honing their attacking threat; in truth, it is only in the past few games that the goals conceded and chances created for the other side have begun to tell a different story. And to boot, one encouraging stat was the Slovenian keeper's record against Cristiano Ronaldo: the Portuguese striker had only managed to score once in six games against him. Until tonight!

Derby record

Oblak has now played against Real Madrid on eight occasions, and the three conceded in the most recent encounter takes what was a respectable five goals against to eight. He has kept three clean sheets. Of the Madrid players, Sergio Ramos did have the best record against him, managing to find the net twice, but a deflected free-kick, penalty and tap in from a Bale cross puts Cristiano onto four. Oblak's finest match against Los Blancos came in the Champions League, in the 0-0 draw in the Calderón in 2015. The last ever league derby will likely go down as his worst.
