Nice to be feel valued

Keylor Navas warned that Real Madrid will need to be extra vigilant in tomorrow's Champions League MatchDay 5 meeting with Sporting Clube, and in his appearance alongside Zidane in this evening's press conference, the keeper also spoke about his nomination in UEFA's Team of the Year: "It's a privilege to be on a par with the most important players and nice to feel valued by people".

You've gone four games without conceding a goal. How are feeling?

Thankfully I feel good. I have good health, which is the most important thing. I am able to push myself, and work hard. After that, everything else will come of its own accord. The team is looking happy and that is helping us to get good results. This game is very important for everyone.

Have you spoken to your compatriot, Bryan Ruiz?

I have a great friendship with Bryan - I know him really well. It's a privilege to be with him in the national team but this time we'll be on opposing sides. We have to be careful with Sporting's players, because they have the quality to give us a hard time.

You are one of the candidates for UEFA's Team of the Year…

I'm with Oblak, Buffon… It's a privilege to be on a par with the most important keepers and something which motivates me a lot. I'm taking it all with humility, whilst knowing that I must be doing a good job. It is nice when the work you do is appreciated and valued - everyone likes that. I am always looking to improve. You can always learn. My aim is to continue working hard, and that won't change, whatever happens.

How is Cristiano taking his return to his old club?

For him it's nice to come home and it's a special game for him, but I see him working with the same intensity as always. He's always been very professional.
