Prandelli reveals that Zaza is the reason he left Valencia

The signing of Simone Zaza is to blame for the resignation of Cesare Prandelli. Or more precisely, his non-signing and non-arrival on december 29th is to blame. "I felt undermined," the Italian said during an interview with SER Deportivos Valencia.
Prandelli was informed when he signed with the club in Otober that €30 million would be made available to him when the January transfer window rolled around in order to strengthen his squad. In a meeting on December 11th, that figure had dropped to €4 million.
The club has since pointed out that €24 million of that money was paid for the Fair Play rule, who sent a bill to the club in October despite the fact that they may have known about that amount since July.
"I arrived at a big project and left with a poor impression," Prandelli said. He accepted the drop in funds but said he wanted Zaza and at least three more arrivals. Prandelli had met with Zaza and his father while Pitarch had held his own conversations with Juventus.
"Why is Zaza not here? I do not know. But on the 28th, the president told me I had 24 hours to chose between a striker and a midfielder and that for me was not a progressive move." That was when he thought of his resignation.
García Pitarch told AS in an interview on December 25 that Zaza, as Prandelli claimed, "is the priority, or another striker like him, and we are currently in negotiations over that."
